Sacking of workers: Akala Accuses Ajimobi of cover up
The recent outburst of the Oyo State governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi on the allegation of some workers sacked by the candidate of the Labour Party in April 11 governorship election in the state has been described as ‘a criminal cover up’ by the incumbent governor.
The former governor, speaking through his director of public affairs, Oludare Ogunlana, said Ajimobi and team just woke up after last week Tuesday’s appearance of the former governor on Splash FM where he punched all the lies of Ajimobi. Of course, May 29, 2015 appointed exit date for Sen. Ajimobi is fast approaching. Expectedly each passing day gives him a nightmare, as the aroma of power is too sweet for the Ajimobi’s family to ever contemplate its imminent demise. Since no dictatorship leaves power on its own volition, reconciling itself with the reality becomes a conflict, which the regime obviously finds difficult to resolve.
“The record is there that Senator Ajimobi remains the most wicked dictator Oyo State ever had. Salaries are not paid on time while means of livelihood of people were destroyed with impunity.
“Ajimobi is currently spending money like a drunking sailor without appropriation from the state assembly. Under his administration, Oyo State witness gargantuan disaster that led to the death of over 300 people in a day. His administration has not been able to account for the relieved materials provided by federal government which was alleged to have been criminally diverted by Ajimobi and his wife.
“It is also a known fact that Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala administration employed more workers and dignify them compared with the Ajimobi who employed graduates as market sweepers with less than N10,000 per month,” Ogunlana said.
He further added that Ajimobi genius for the first time in the history of the state began paying workers in the state alphabetically and called on the governor to explain the rationale behind the system.
“To worsen the situation, none of the so called teachers employed by the Ajimobi’s administration is yet to collect salaries in the last three months.”
According to Ogunlana,“like all bad leaders, the Ajimobi and his wife’s lead government in Oyo State in the coming period will be more brutal, more apprehensive of its critics, assumes maximum power and more deadly in an attempt to consolidate itself in power by hook or crook. We hereby alert the public to be wary of the administration lies and propaganda. We should beef up for more challenges, mass actions, and collective programs with Labour Party to resist and free Oyo State from Mr. Ajimobi and his wife come April 11, 2015.”
