Rivers SHA orders Amaechi to submit Handover Notes to Gov Wike
The Rivers State House of Assembly has ordered the former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, to submit his handover note to Governor Nyesom Wike.
In a motion sponsored by a member of the house, Hon. Farah Dagogo, the lawmakers expressed dissatisfaction over Amaechi’s alleged negligence to the tenets of democracy.
He said: “Part of our oversight is to prevent people and institutions from doing the wrong thing. If we fail to do this, we are setting a bad precedence in the state.
“This is why this motion is exigent, considering the fact that the past administration failed to give a handover note.
“As it stands now, the current position of finances is unknown because we don’t have these information.
“The state needs the handover note so we can properly plan what is good for the state. Transition is an important part of the constitution.”
