Sharing is caring!

The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has raised an alarm of alleged obstruction of democracy, claiming that Governor Rotimi Amaechi is unwilling to hand over to the Governor elect, Nyesom Wike on May 29.

According to the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, the incumbent governor and the All Progressives Congress are plotting to secure a court injunction in Awka, Anambra State, to stop the swearing-in of the state governor- elect, Chief Nyesom Wike.

The Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee of PDP Campaign Organisation in the state, Emma Okah, released a statement in Port Harcourt alleging that APC and Amaechi planned to bribe a judge outside Rivers State to stall the inauguration since the judiciary in the state had been paralysed by Amaechi’s administration.

“However, in the face of this provocation, the PDP urges the people of Rivers State to remain calm as their governor-elect will be sworn in on May 29, 2015, as ordained by God like his colleagues in other states,” the statement said.
