Pop star, Rihanna on tuesday morning, posted a tweet in support of Palestinians as the conflict between Israel and Gaza escalated but deleted it as the message wasn’t particularly well received.
The Barbadian singer had posted “#FreePalestine” on her official feed. Within just eight minutes, she deleted it, after she received a large amount of replies.
“She didn’t even realise it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans”, gossip site, TMZ quoted a source close to Rihanna as saying.
The singer had been reading up on the Middle Eastern conflict online when she clicked a link. After realising her error, she deleted the tweet.
She posted another tweet with a picture on Wednesday morning, saying: “Let’s pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?”
