Retired Police DSP, Corpral, Arrested As Arm Suppliers to Boko Haram

Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of a retired policeman, corpral and another person
supplying arms to the dreaded Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.

According to reports, the suspects are, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Abu Haruna and corporal Solomon.

NigerianEcho gathered that the suspects were captured in Nsukka by men of the Nigerian Army while they were travelling in a bus heading to the North from Imo State.

Some of the arms and ammunitions recovered from them include, 40 AK47 magazines, 4 boxes of AK47 live ammunition, 100 pieces of live cartridges, one piece of Denin Mopol khaki and charms concealed in a cap.

The captured arms suppliers confessed their involvement in supplying of arms to insurgents in the Northern Nigeria.

The police corporal according to a security report is serving in Imo State Police Command. The retired DSP, Abu Haruna, confessed that he had been in the business of arms dealing since he retired from the police, adding, At the time of their arrest they were going to supply the ammunition to their customers in Taraba state.
