Redeemer University Student Held For Killing His Father
A 21-year old student of the Department of History and International Relations, Redeemer University, RCCG Camp Ogun State has been arrested for killing his father.
The suspect, Tolani Ajayi was arrested after the shattered body of his father, Barrister Charles Ajayi was recovered in a box at a nearby bush at Canaanland Street at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Camp, Km 46 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Police sources informed NigerianEcho that the Divisional Police Officer for Redemption Camp, Olaiya Martins led a team of detectives and some members of the community that discovered the remains of the deceased and traced ground marks of the box from where it was dumped to the house of the suspect where they met him.
On interrogation by the police, Tolani informed the detectives that, problem started when his father confronted him for not responding to all the prayer points he raised, forcing his father to slap him. He said he went mad and went straight to the kitchen to pick up a knife to stab him and later a cutlass to cut his throat.
Police has recovered as exhibit, the knife and cutlass he used in killing his father who is a SAN .
Ikemefuna Okoye, Commissioner of Police Ogun state, who has ordered the head of Homicide section to take over the case from the RCCG division also sent condolence message to the church community and late SAN widow.
