Reactions by some top politicians on Ekiti election

Sharing is caring!

Dare Bejide, former SSG and a member of the PDP said,
“We witnessed late arrival of ballot papers in Ilawe Ekiti, headquarters of Ekiti South-West. But it was later brought. We hope that that would not happen in the other areas”.
Yemi Adaramodu, Chief of Staff to Governor Kayode Fayemi, at Ilawe Ekiti, said, “Politicians have refused to learn anything. The PDP have been going spring with some security agents, whose identity remain unknown. They have been arresting and intimidating our people. But later, we found out that the security agents ran away. If they were genuine security agents, they won’t run away. We pray that the people would not allow the process to be scuttled.

“So far in Ilawe and some towns here, the process have remained peaceful. We pray that the security agents wouldn’t allow this to be scuttled. We pray that they would not allow the election to be scuttled.

“In Ekiti South-West, we did not witnessed the late arrival of materials. The electoral umpire is regulating well for now. But let’s wait for the votes to be cast and counted. On the side of the security agencies, we have witnessed that some political ruff necks have been allowed to move around unmolested. I want the political umpire to watch their tongues.

Former Governor Segun Oni, at Ifaki Ekit, Ward 2, Oriolode polling unit:
“It is a charade”

“PDP is inviting hydra headed fascism into the country now. This fascism is aimed to maintaining the PDP in power. The directive not to allow Gov. Rotimi Amaechi into Ekiti didn’t come from the Presidency. It came from the ministerial level. We must identify this fascism and nib it in the bud.
