Public-private partnership, tool for infrastructure development —Amosun
The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has called for more private sector involvement to help support and drive the government’s various infrastructure development policies.
According to the governor, all public infrastructure, including roads, drainages, as well as good schools, “are more of social services and levellers,” adding that they all required the complementary role of the private investors to get the state back to its enviable heights in all areas.
Amosun made the call while receiving members of the governing council of Day Waterman College, led by its co-founder, Mrs Olufunlola Aderinokun, in his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta, on Thursday.
The governor further remarked that his administration was also keen about looking at areas of common interest and, as such, give necessary political will to drive the initiative.
“We are more than willing to partner with any willing people of like minds. We will look for areas of common interest where we collaborate. I will not have any hesitation in giving the political will to drive the initiative,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Mrs Aderinokun had lauded the state government for its developmental strides, especially in all sectors of the state.
She assured that the institution would not relent in giving back to its community, pointing out that it had been involved in scholarship funds and borehole drilling, among others.
