Projects worth N12trn abandoned nationwide by govts – CIPPPMN

Chartered Institute of Project Programme and Project Portfolio Management of Nigeria (CIPPPMN) has said the projects abandoned by the three tiers of government in the country are worth N12 trillion.‎

The President of the Institute, Dr Victoria Okoronkwo, said this on Saturday at the end of the organisation’s mid-year conference, featuring induction and honorary awards of the Institute in Abuja.

According to her, they arrived at the figure through an inventory conducted by the institute.

She said, “The institute sent out its officials to the six zones to find out the number of abandoned projects and their value”.

Reiterating the organisation readiness to partner governments to drastically reduce the wastage of the nation’s hard resources, Dr Okoronkwo said,‎ “The institute has proposed to the 774 Local Government Areas in the country for partnership in the development of project management units.

“This proposal will be also be extend to the states’ and Federal Government ministries, agencies and parastatals”.

The following personalities were inducted as Chattered, Fellow and members of the Institute; Dr Emman Onoja, Mr Amakiri-Whyte Bom, Mr Tom Omeje, Dr Jamilu Yankwashi, Mrs Evelyn Honesty, Mr Shaubu Osilama, Mr Ukpabi Iheanyichukwu and Mr Olaiya Jelil.
