Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has decried the rumoured deposits of varying sums by Federal Government to secret accounts for some states.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Tuesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit of the SweetFm Management to the Presidency.
According to Adesina, the Buhari-led Federal government has no reason whatsoever to hide any such deposit as transparency is key to the government.
“Transparency is key to Buhari’s government. If we ever have any reason to allocate a sum to any state, it will be made Public”, Adesina declared.
The President’s Spokesman equally hints the possibility of a Presidential media chat to hold in December.
“Mr. President is ready. We plan to have the media chat December but plans are yet to be concluded. Therefore, i cannot guarantee 100% yet”
The presidency equally hailed SweetFm for display of professionalism with specific reference to ‘The Podium’ adding that positive reports have been received from different quarters about her objectivity.
Adesina said: “We noticed that the reach is massive. I got several calls even weeks after appearing on ‘The Podium’ with about thirteen media houses publishing various excerpts from the interview”
“I have also learnt of your objectivity. Channels did a good job during 2015 and it pays up for them right now. You people should just keep it up.”
While thanking the SweetFm delegation at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Senator Gbenga Obadara and Victor Mark, the Presidential spokesman hints a smooth working relationship with the medium.
“We will work with you to relay information to Nigerians in that region”, Adesina concluded.
