Policeman kills self, 5 others in Ogun
A policeman today in Abeokuta lost his consciousness and killed his wife, an okada man, 2 toddlers, neighbour and himself.
Information available to NigerianEcho revealed that, the policeman is one corpral Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi attached to Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Elewe-Eran.
It was gathered that what led to today’s unfortunate incident started about a month ago when his wife parked out of his house over a domestic issue and decided to live with a friend not too far from their house.
Today for reasons best known to the now deceased policeman, around 7.03am it was learnt went for his service gun hired an okadaman and went to where his wife was living.
At the house, NigerianEcho learnt, he shot dead the okadaman who took him to the place, killed his unaware wife, two toddlers and himself. Two tenants in the house according to information were also shot but those two are recuperating at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who described the incident as “unfortunate,” said the officer who carried out the shooting to death of the affected persons this morning, had been having “domestic conflicts” with his wife. Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikemefuna Okoye, had ordered a forensic investigation in the incident.
