The Ogun State Police Command has,on 14th Novermber, rescued a stolen 2 week old baby, who was stolen in Abule Ifo,in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State on 31st October,2015,by one Ifeoluwa Yekini,f,of Abule Ifo,Ogun State.

The suspect(now in police custody) ,who had been monitoring the mother of the baby while pregnant, went under the pretense of felicitating with the mother in her house at the same village, requested to back the baby, which the mother obliged her. She went further by requesting from the mother to take the baby out to shop for the little baby girl. But at the market, the suspect decided to run away with the baby  to an unknown place.

The mother of the baby, after several efforts to locate her with the baby, then reported the case to the police at the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ifo for search and necessary investigation.

Meanwhile, the suspect, who had been on some medications to deceive her husband for being pregnant, took permission from her husband to visit her parents,in another village, from where she put a phone call across to her husband that she had put to bed. This was so suspicious and her relations and neighbors raised alarm which compelled her to flee to Onipanu area in Ota ogun state where she was eventually arrested on 14th November,2015 at 0500hrs.

The suspect was arrested by combined teams of Onipanu and Ifo Divisions of the command when the suspected, who had been placed under surveillance by the police, was sited in the area.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has charged parents to protect their children and keep watch over them always. He stressed that this case should be a lesson to many mothers.

CP Abdulmajid Ali has however directed that the case be charged to court as the command will not tolerate any act of criminality in Ogun State.
