Police nabs 3 Poly students, others for robbery, Cultism, rape

Ondo State Police Command has arrested eight suspected robbers and cult members who have been disturbing people of the state.
According to the police, three National Diploma (ND) students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo,(RUGIPO) area of the state identified as Akinboun Blessing, 21, ND ll student of Public Administration Department; Fasanu Tolutope, ND ll, Business Administration Department and Alabi Oluwaseun 26, who is a part-time ND lll of Department of Business Administration.
Police Spokesman, DSP Wole Ogode, who gave the names of other suspects in their custody as Wale Ilori 29, Abayomi Oluwafemi 16, Eze Ogokwe, Taiwo Segun 16 and Ifeanyi Obi also informed, the bandits were nabbed during different operations in Owo local government.
The students believed to be cult members have been in the habit of raping female students and according to the police, Fasanu Tolutope, ND ll student had confessed to the police that he was initiated into cultism by one Temitope Adeyeye in 2013, adding that he has also been involved in various rape cases.
Police who caught Tolulope with one short locally made gun loaded with cartridges and one dagger also recovered from Alabi Oluwaseun and Akinboun Blessing who had confessed to be cult members dangerous weapons like guns, knives and axes.
Akinboun was also alleged to have robbed students who live off campus taking away laptops, ATM cards and also raping female students.
The police, according to Supol Ogodo, recovered one UTC, axe, jack knife from Abayomi Oluwafemi.
Police said further that Eze Ogokwe was arrested for conspiracy and stealing, that he conspired with others to steal some aluminum steel.
Ifeanyi Obi, police said, was arrested for stealing while Taiwo Segun was arrested over unlawful possession of dangerous weapons.
According to the police, all the eight suspects would soon be charged to court after the completion of their investigation.
