Police nabbed Seven Robbery Kingpin, three kidnappers, rescued victim

Edo State Police Command has arrested seven notorious car snatches.
According to police sitrep, the suspects were arrested when a patrol team from Esigie Division responded to a distress call of car snatching by armed men at Eguadase Street, Esigie.
The Police team it reported trailed the escape route of the hoodlums and caught up with the said car (Honda Accord car reg. no withheld) with the three male suspects arrested in the car.
One cut-to-size gun was recovered from the hoodlum as well as vehicle, while the arrested suspects led detectives to the gang’s hideout where four additional male gang members were arrested.
The gang has been linked to some past robbery incidents within Benin City. State CIID Benin City is investigating their past activities.
In a related development, men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, along East/West road in Port-Harcourt on Tuesday intercepted a Toyota Camry car (reg no. withheld) with three male occupants.
During interaction with the men, the detectives discovered that one of the occupants had just been kidnapped by the other two and was being conveyed to a hideout.
The two suspected kidnappers were immediately arrested and victim safely rescued.
One locally-made pistol with two live cartridges was recovered from the suspects. Police said, efforts ongoing to apprehend other gang members as State CIID Port-Harcourt has commenced investigation.
On 18th August, 2015 at about 10:00am two armed men ages 20yrs and 21yrs of Takuti village Lapai LGA were intercepted by a team of vigilante group. Both men were immediately handed over to the Police together with one locally-made Revolver pistol with three rounds of live ammunition recovered from them. Suspects remain under Police custody, State CIID Minna is investigating.
