Police Discovers Weapons In Zamfara Lawmaker’s House

A cache of arms and ammunition has been reportedly discovered in a serving lawmaker’s house (names withheld) in Zamfara by men of the Nigeria Police.
Zamfara State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Lawal Abdullahi, while confirming the incident revealed that it was a special police team from Abuja, that carried out the operation.
A security source told NigerianEcho that, several AK47 rifles, boxes of live ammunition, several cans of teargas and grenade were allegedly recovered from the lawmaker’s other house at Tsafe town and Takama in Gusau.
Our source said the raid may not be unconnected to some persons that were arrested by the police in Kano State who allegedly confessed that they keep their arms and ammunition in a lawmaker’s house in Zamfara.
NigerianEcho also learnt that the development might be a follow up to the questioning of one of the chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by security operatives last month over his alleged ties with cattle rustlers in the state.
