Police arrest Ogun robbers through BB PIN

Police detectives attached to Ilese Division in Ijebu North East Local Government of Ogun State on Sunday, May 11 arrested five suspected robbers who robbed a shop at Duduyemi Complex Ilese Ijebu in April 2014.
In a statement by the state’s Police Command spokesman, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrested suspects had earlier attacked the shopping complex and carted away many phones and items worth N1m and escaped.
The detectives, the statement stated, placed the suspects under surveillance on receiving complaints from the victims in all areas including social media before one Omobadejo Benjamin who resides in Abeokuta, Ogun State was tracked down with one of the BB PINs and eventually arrested.
The felon according to the statement claimed to have bought the Curve 3 Blackberry from one Adebanjo Adeyinka of Soyoye area Abeokuta for N5,000.
Adeyinka was arrested and while police were conducting a search in his house, many phones including blackberry, iPhones, flash drives, modems were recovered from him.
Adeyinka also claimed to have got the items from one Tunde in Lagos State. Police detectives proceeded to Lagos where additional three suspects were arrested in connection with the robbery.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye, in the statement directed the detectives to work hard in order to apprehend other suspects and recover the items while their arms and ammunition are recovered as well.
He also commended the complainant for his cooperation with the police and assured the general public of the command’s commitment to investigate cases brought to the police with all sense of dignity, fairness and transparency with a view to achieving effective policing of Ogun State.
