Petroleum Marketers Pass Vote of No Confidence on EXCO

The crisis rocking the Western Zone of the Independent Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN reached a climax on Wednesday when members passed a vote of no confidence on the Executives.

This happened at a scheduled meeting of the association held at Royal Parklane Hotel, Akure, Ondo State where members from the five PPMC depots, namely, Mosimi, Ibadan, Ore, Satilite(Ejigbo) and Ilorin present. 

The meeting, which was supposed to be for reconciliation of all warring factions of the association turned to free for all fight.

NigerianEcho learnt, the meeting became rowdy when, the dissolved EXCO led by Olumide Ogunmade of Real Petroleum Ltd attempted to preside over the meeting.

The refusal of the dissolved EXCO led to fracas as aggrieved members started booing them, calling them thieves and at the same time hurling available objects on them. Police intervention saved the expos from being linched.

The association crisis as gathered by NigerianEcho  correspondent started when the exco fraudulently distributed petroleum products meant for the entire members among themselves and their cronies.

Speaking with our correspondent, one of the association big wig, who is also the Chairman care-taker committee, Mosimi depot, Arch. Adeleke Bada said, “the Zonal EXCO stands dissolved in line with a letter emanated from our national secretariat and signed by National Chairman, Chief Lawson Obasi”.
