Petra Kvitova Clinches Second Wimbledon Title
Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova won her second Wimbledon title on Saturday after defeating Eugenie Bouchard 6-3 6-0 on Centre Court.
The 24-year-old who won her first Wimbledon title in 2011, at the age of 21, proved too powerful for her 20-year-old opponent who repeatedly struggled to hold her own serve while seldom making an impact on Kvitova’s. Bouchard won the junior Wimbledon title two years ago but
succumbed to her more experienced opponent in just 55 minutes as Kvitova was ruthless from start to finish.
Kvitova’s performance on the court was relentless and brilliant, and had the crowd gasping at the ferocity of her serve and her
returns.
Her canadian opponent tried to stand her ground but couldn’t match her even though her play wasn’t bad.
