PDP wins Re-Run Elections in Taraba state

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in Taraba state, Darius Ishaku as the winner of the supplementary governorship election.

Ishaku polled 369,318 votes while his All Progressives Congress opponent, Senator Aisha Alhassan, polled 275,984 votes.

Shootings were however, recorded at one of the collation centres in Takum Local Government Area of the State, after the elections on Saturday but no casualties have been reported.

The supplementary election were held in three registration areas in the local council, after the April 11 elections were declared inconclusive.
