PDP wins 22 of 25 Local Governments in Delta state
The results of the local government election held in Delta State over the weekend have been declared with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerging winner of 22 out of 25 local governments.
Winners of the other three local governments are not yet known as results in Isoko South local government area are still being awaited, elections in Ndokwa East did not hold while that of Ethiope East was inconclusive.
Chairman of the Independent Electoral commission in the state, Moses Ogbe, said that a run-off election in Ethiope East would be conducted in eight wards where results were inconclusive.
Ogbe also announced that the chairmanship candidates of the PDP in the two council areas of Ethiope West and Patani were returned unopposed as none of the opposition parties fielded candidates for the areas.
