PDP Member Files Suit against Mu’azu seeking his Removal as National Chairman
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aliyu Garba Gubrin, has filed a suit challenging the election of the National chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu.
The suit comes just two days after two separate suits filed by two other members of the party were withdrawn at a Federal High Court in Abuja. Gubrin is hoping his suit will make the court remove Mu’azu as the chairman of the party as he says Mu’azu cannot preside over the affairs of the party because his “emergence as the chairman of the party did not follow due process.”
Muazu, the former chairman of the party, Bamanga Tukur and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have been named as defendants in the suit.
Gubrin wants the court to decide if Tukur’s resignation duly complies the party’s Constitution. He also wants the court to set aside the resignation and stop INEC from recognizing Mu’azu as the party chairman .
