PDP loses Ogun state Lawmaker to LP
A member of the Ogun state House of Assembly, Honourable Joseph Adegbesan, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the Labour Party.
Adegbesan announced his defection in Abeokuta on Monday, saying he left the PDP after consultations with his supporters, and picked the LP’s ticket to contest the House of Representatives election for Ijebu North, East and Ogun Waterside Constituency, so as to achieve his political dream.
He said: “I left the PDP after consulting with my people and they gave me the go ahead. I also want to let you know that more PDP lawmakers whose interests were not protected by the party will defect to other parties.
“As politicians, we need to do everything possible to bring the dividends of democracy to the door steps of our people. I want to advise the people to be law abiding and shun any form of violence.”
