Oyo Security Trust Fund donates items worth N4.8m to Operation Burst

The Oyo State Security Trust Fund has donated items worth a total sum of N4.8 million to officers and men of the state security outfit, Operation Burst, to aid the effective performance of their duties.

The items, donated on behalf of the Fund by Dr. Ayo Abinna, included 84 tyres, 37 batteries and 35 foot mats.

Abinna, while speaking at the occasion held at the Operation Burst headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan, said that the leadership of the Trust Fund would continue to assist the government in the area of security of lives and property.

While commending the officers and men of Operation Burst for their doggedness in eradicating crimes in the state, he urged them to make good use of the items.

“We are aware of the good job you have done since the trust fund was inaugurated last year to safe our communities from hoodlums and I want to emphasize that we gave out the items as it was requested. We are also working on the refurbishing of some of the Operation Burst’s vehicles and this has reached an advanced stage,’’ Abinna said.

While receiving the items, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr. Segun Abolarinwa expressed government’s appreciation to the Board of Trustees of the Trust Fund for the donation.

He called for a renewed collaboration between the state government and the Trust Fund so as to rid the state of hoodlums.
