The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed a bill creating three ministries in the state, in addition to the twenty existing ones.

They are the Ministry of Integration and Inter-governmental Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Natural Resources.

Consequently, the governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has assigned portfolios to commissioners to man the three ministries, as well as eight others.

The state commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Gbade Lana, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing the press at the end of the state executive council meeting.

According to the commissioner, the Ministry of Integration and Inter-governmental Affairs would be manned by Mr. Tayo Koleoso while the Ministry of Transport would be headed by Professor Nureni Tanimowo.

The commissioner said that the Ministry of Natural Resources would be headed by Chief Fatai Abimbola.

The commissioner disclosed that Mrs. Atinuke Osunkoya retained her portfolio as Commissioner of Women Affairs just as Mr. Abimbola Kolade has been assigned to man the state Ministry of Works.

Governor Ajimobi, according to the commissioner, has also assigned the Ministry of Water Resources to Engineer Wale Adeoye.

The State Ministry of Local government, according to the commissioner, will be headed by Hon. Fatai Buhari, just as the Ministry of Special Duties had been allocated to Mr. Azeez Onaola.

Alhaji Abideen Oladimeji is to be in charge of the Ministry of Establishment and the State Ministry of Agriculture will be headed by Hon. Iyiola Ambali Hammed.

The State Ministry of Land and Housing will be headed by Mr. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.

Explaining the delay in the announcement of the portfolios, the commissioner said government needed to wait for the process of creation of ministries by the State House of Assembly before the announcement of portfolios for the commissioners.

The commissioner also disclosed that the composition of State Boards and parastatals will be announced soon.
