Over 7000 APC Members Defect to PDP in Yobe state
An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Yobe state, Alhaji Ibrahim Gero has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP along with over 7,000 members of the party.
Gero defected during a campaign rally in Karasuwa on Monday, citing a desire for better leadership in the state as the reason for the defection.
He also said that the people of Yobe state needed good governance that would make infrastructure and youth employment and development a priority.
Accepting Gero into the PDP, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Party in Yobe state, Malam Sule Doguwa, said the defection was a proof that the party is becoming stronger and united and is well positioned to win the general elections.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Alhaji Adamu Waziri, also pledged to ensure transparency and accountability in governance at levels of government, if voted.
