Oshiomhole, Omar, Falana Pay Tribute As Oyeride Is Laid To Rest
It was eulogy galore as the slain Private Secretary of Edo State Governor, Comrade Abdul Kabir Olaitan Oyerinde was buried. Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, Femi Falana, Ayo Obe, Bamidele Aturu as well as Osagie Obayuwana were full of his praises. Falana asked the people to look out for themselves since the “terrorising gang” has beaten the Government by taking over the affairs of things and the Government appeared helpless. He said, “what we need to do is to use the legal instrument to prosecute all indictable actions of criminality, arson, assault and violence”. Falana said while they have traced the killers of Ayo Daramola in Ekiti State, former Governor Segun Oni thwarted efforts to get them prosecuted. He said his meeting with the incumbent Governor, Kayode Fayemi, saw them agreeing to begin the case again.
NigerianEcho correspondent in Osun State reports that Bamidele Aturu accused the Action Congress, ACN, PDP and other parties of killing Olaitan Oyerinde. He encouraged people to contribute to Olaitan Oyerinde’s Foundation to take care of the family. He made a donation of one hundred thousand naira to the foundation.
However, the speech of the President of Nigerian Labour Congress, Abdwaheed Omar, was interrupted by the students who threatened to throw water sachet at him.
