Ortom declares War on Crime and Violence in Benue state

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has ordered security agents in the state to investigate and put an end to violent attacks on the Tse-Ikpur community in Logo Local Government Area which claimed lives and properties.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Information Communication and Technology, Tahav Agerzua, in Makurdi on Saturday, the governor sympathised with families of the dead and those who lost their properties.

He declared that his administration would not tolerate acts of violence against any person in the state.

He also said that measures were being put in place to ensure the arrest of those responsible for the attack and also for the curtail of hooliganism and crime in the state.

Stating that security remains a priority of his government, he encouraged dialogue and legal settlement between aggrieved parties so as to prevent further violent disputes.
