Onosode’s Death, A Colossal Loss – Saraki

President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday likened the death of foremost technocrat and administrator, Dr. Gamaliel Onosode to the loss of a library, judging by his deep knowledge of Nigeria and her socio-economic development.

Saraki, while commiserating with the Onosode family, government and people of Delta State on the demise of Chief Onosode, said he was a man of many parts and one of the second generation of architects of the Nigerian nation.

He stated that the deceased served the nation in various capacities with excellence, diligence and dignity.

Saraki words: “As a civil servant, Onosode’s success story is unquantifiable. His career spanned both the public and private sectors. He was very refined and dedicated to his duties.

“He lived his entire life serving humanity. I recall when he ventured into politics. He was a fine and complete gentleman whose contributions to nation building knows no bound,” Saraki said.

The Senate President added: “Although, Nigeria has lost one of her finest technocrats and a thorough-bred administrator, we are consoled that the late Dr. Gamaliel Onosode lived an exemplary life. His antecedents speak volume and will no doubt stand the test of time.”

He prayed for the soul of the departed to find rest in the bossom of the Almighty God and urged his family to take pride in the good name he left behind. 

“Death is an inevitable end for all humans. With his death, his family is faced with the enormous task of upholding his rich and sterling legacy so as to sustain his legendary attributes”, he said and‎ called on the government of Delta State to immortalize the deceased for his noble deeds.
