Ondo State Speaker Dies at 52 after A Protracted Battle with Cancer
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Samuel Adesina Ajayi, has died after spending several months battling with cancer of the Urinary Bladder.
The late Adesina was 52 years old, represented Odigbo constituency II in the state house and was a member of the Labour Party. His absence from the state parliament has been a source of worry for over three months and he reportedly died monday night at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
The death of the late speaker was confirmed by the state government in a statement by signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Rotimi Adelola.
The SSG in his statement described the late speaker as a bridge builder, a man of integrity and a reliable team player who placed the interest of the state above personal consideration, also stating that the government was shocked over the news.
