The factions of the Ondo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party have shunned the Abuja High Court Ruling banning the party from conducting House of Assembly primaries.

The party members laid aside their dispute on Saturday to conduct primaries in Idanre, Ondo East, Ondo West and Ese Odo council areas of the state after the court had ruled that the caretaker committee set up by the PDP National Working Committee should not conduct the primaries.

Although officials of the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission were not present at the primaries, Security operatives were present at the venue of the primaries to ensure a peaceful and safe election.

The Chairman of the Old PDP Ebenzer Alabi and representatives of the Mimiko-led faction, the Attorney General and Justice Commissioner Eyitayo Jegede and the State Cooperative and Community Development Commissioner, Clement Faboyede, went to the INEC office in Akure to complain about the absence of its staff to observe their Primaries.
