The Ondo State House of Assembly has served the Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, an impeachment notice over alleged gross misconducts.

The notice follows a series of crisis between Olanusi and Governor Olusegun Mimiko after the deputy defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress just two days to the March 28 Presidential elections.

The lawmakers’ allegations against Olanusi include financial misappropriation, absenteeism from official duties, and instigation of political disaffection in the cabinet of the state government.

The majority leader, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu from Ondo West constituency 2 moved the motion for the impeachment while Yinka Banso from Akoko north west constituency 1 seconded it.
