Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has secured his Presidential election nomination form on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okorocha, whose form was purchased by the National Movement for Rochas Okorocha, said he declared his interest in the presidential race to rescue Nigeria from the reign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as he is the best man to develop the country.

He said: “We have three major problems in this country; one of them is that of insecurity, dividing the country along ethnic and religious lines and the fallen standard of education.

“Unfortunately the present administration is not doing anything to stop it. Today I, your brother with the title Dan Jikan Sokoto and a man who has lived in the North for all my life, I can tell you that those who are plunging the country into the present mess are doing so deliberately.

“I don’t want you to believe that they’re only focusing in the North. We in the South-East and South-West are not left out. Anywhere PDP cannot find its way they destroy it.

“We’re blessed with enough resources to cater for our people if properly enhanced but unfortunately the so-called elites only care for themselves and families forgetting about the so-called down trodden. That’s why even before you, the masses called me out to contest for the president.

“My foundation has built many schools for the masses and today I was with the Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, earlier where we performed the ground breaking ceremony for a new school for the Almajiri in Zaria because everybody deserves attention.

“Let me also say that those who know me, know that I don’t believe in do or die politics. If it’s the will of Allah that I’ll fly the flag of APC in the presidential race, so be it. But if another person emerges, I call on you, my supporters, to rally round such person because our aim is to remove this corrupt system from power to guarantee the future of our children.”
