Great People of Nigeria,

I use this medium to express my profound gratitude to my family, friends, associates, professional colleagues, the media and general public for standing by me during my abduction by the Ogun State governor’s Chief Security Officer, CSO, and the subsequent detention and incarceration by the Nigeria Police Force; acting on the orders of Ogun State Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun.

I am overwhelmed by the massive show of support against this impunity which in all fairness seem to have been the order of the day in Ogun State for a couple of years now. Your timely  intervention against an orchestrated ‘commando style’ plan, masterminded, not just to silence critics of the administration but to also ensure that I remain perpetually incarcerated, indeed neutralized the game plan of the Caesar.

Jean de la fontaine once enthused, “Anyone entrusted with power will abuse it if not also animated with the love of truth and virtue, no matter whether he be a prince or one of the people”.

It is pertinent for me to state clearly here that at no time was I invited for questioning by any security agency for anything either in writing, call or visitation to my residence; it therefore beat every sense of reasoning why I could be arrested in the street by the chief security officer in mufti in a manner similar to an abduction. Furtherance to this, I have resolved to seek redress on this injustice so as to protect my Fundamental Human Rights and that I shall do within the confines of the law.

Contrary to the thinking in some quarters, these events have not deterred my commitment to continually seek for justice and good governance in Ogun State but rather, it has reignited my spirit to do more than I have always done; for the good of our society and for a free and liberal Ogun state.

I am aware that a lot of people from diverse sector of the Nigerian society put in various effort to highlight my plight and also save me from the sword of Caesar; for which I am eternally grateful but permit me to single out the custodians of the fourth estate of the realm (the media).

I will forever remain indebted to mediums such as Sahara Reporters, Linda Ikeji, Vanguard and Punch newspapers, Breaking Times and many other online platforms and blogs too numerous to mention, I am immensely thankful.

The battle may have been won but not the war against tyranny. We are not in doubt that our traducers will not relent in suppressing truth. Hence, I invite everyone to come with me on this voyage to rescue Ogun State from tyranny, oppression and vindictiveness.

Let me again align with Israelmore Ayivor who said, “A leader without a clear vision and plans only abuses his power because visions, dreams and plans are the fulcrum along which the loads of success will spine by your own efforts; and where power is abused, there is manipulation instead of inspiration”.

And in my own words, “Truth is the liberator of the soul”. The soul of Ogun State shall not die and truth shall never be suppressed.

I am elated and grateful to you all.

Yours sincerely,

Sf- Ojo Emmanuel Adediran.
