Sharing is caring!

A former Acting Chairman of the Federal Character Commission and Ogun State representative, Hon. Kayode Oladele, has described the recent issues surrounding the Ogun West Traditional Council as an internal affair that would be resolved amicably by the royal fathers.

Oladele, in a statement made available on Sunday, said the situation should not generate unnecessary tension, stressing that traditional rulers in Ogun West possess the capacity and wisdom to manage their differences without external interference.

According to him, “The issues being referenced are internal matters within the Council of our revered royal fathers. As custodians of our culture and tradition, they have the experience and institutional mechanisms to resolve their differences amicably.”

He expressed confidence in the unity of the traditional institution in Ogun West, assuring that the monarchs would continue to work together in the interest of peace and development of the region.

Oladele further stated that the ongoing discourse would not derail the collective aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next governor of the state, adding that the royal fathers remained committed to ensuring harmony in the process.

“I want to assure our people that the traditional rulers in Ogun West will work harmoniously to ensure that our collective aspiration is pursued without rancour. There is no cause for alarm,” he said.

He, however, called on stakeholders and political actors to exercise restraint and avoid statements capable of escalating tensions, urging the public to allow the monarchs to resolve the matter through established traditional channels.

The Ogun West Traditional Council has recently been at the centre of public discourse following differing positions among some royal fathers on political developments in the state. However, Oladele maintained that the situation would be resolved in the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
