Ogun To Construct Journalists’, Teachers’ Estates

Members of the pen and teaching professions are to benefit from the mass housing plans of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun government in its bit to provide affordable and descent houses to residents.
Amosun gave this hint while inspecting the project site of the Laderin Workers’ Estate in Abeokuta on Sunday.
According to him, the proposed 100 media housing units would commence immediately after the completion of the first phase of the Workers’ Estate.
“We have it in mind to build housing estates for people in the media and teaching professions. These two professions are critical to our development as a state. As you know, if there is no teacher, there would be no one to train any of us to become who we are today, irrespective of our profession,” he said.
Governor said that the 100 housing units which would be constructed for media practitioners would feature state of the art facilities, adding that apart from constructing good road networks linking the estates, Government would also provide amenities such as recreational centre and Local Area Network (LAN) to aid journalists in doing their jobs at the comfort of their homes.
He noted that the teachers, who are civil servants, are also entitled to benefit from the1000 Housing units currently under-construction for workers in the state.No fewer than 200 units out of the 1000, he disclosed, would be roofed with sanitary fittings put in place pending commissioning soon
