Ogun Sars Bursts Cultists’ Den, Arrests 10 With Weapons

The Special Anti Robbery Squad of Ogun state police command has dislodged some cultists hideouts around Papalanto and Ewekoro areas of Ogun state and arrested 10 suspected members of Eiye confraternity who have been terrorizing the good people of the areas and some parts of the state.
SARS, which has embarked on raiding of some notorious Black spots in the state between 25th and 28th Dec., according to DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, State police PPRO, pounced on the cultists at Papalanto and Ewekoro areas and arrested Opadola Olatunde; Sanni Afeez and 8 others.
Items revovered from them include 3 daggers, 2 locally made double barreled guns, blue regalia of Eiye Confraternity and some charms, and they have confessed to the crime. They are presently making useful statements that will assist the police in its investigation.
Supol Adejobi stated that, the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali has given a matching Order to all police formations in the command particularly SARS to embark on constant raid of Black and notorious spots in Ogun state with a view to stemming down criminal activities in the state.
The Police boss, he said, has however directed that other members of the gang and any other cultists or hoodlums in the state be apprehended as there won’t be any room or breathing space for cultism, hooliganism and any act capable of truncating the existing security arrangement in the state.
He further stated that the police will widen the scope of its investigation in the case to establish if this gang had been linked with any previous robbery operations or criminal acts in the areas or in any other parts of the state, so that the command can have enough charges against them.
The Police Command assured the general public, again, that all hands are on deck to provide adequate security for all and sundry during this season and even beyond.
