Ogun prioritises tourism for economic growth

Ogun State Government has pledged to continually attract tourism activities from the national and international markets through adequate promotional and developmental activities for its tourist sites in order to stimulate more business activities in the State.
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Yewande Amusan disclosed this during the Ministerial briefing of the Ministry to mark the third year anniversary of Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration.
According to the Commissioner, the Ministry had embarked on the upgrading of some tourist sites in the State such as, Olumo Rock Tourist Complex in terms of facilities and events organized, which accounted for its recent listing as one of the National Monuments in the Country.
She noted that the Ministry had renovated the Madam Efunroye Tinubu’s shrine, making it more befitting for the icon as the first Iyalode of Yorubaland, as well as, attract more patronage that will generate fund for the government.
