Ogun police command arrest 5 armed robbery suspects with local bullet proof, 2 for initiating new cult members

The Ogun State Police Command on Saturday arrested 5 suspected armed robbers who specialize in snatching cars with locally made bullet proof vest in Ota.

Also, 2 suspected cultists were arrested in Ago Iwoye for initiating young  members into their cult group on Saturday.

According to a release by the state PPRO, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspected armed robbers were arrested by police operatives attached to Onipanu Division of the command following a tip off from an informant, at the hideout of the suspects along Owode/Idiroko road in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State

The suspects are, Mathew Faleti, M, 25; Shola Isah, M, 35; Monday  Edun, M, 22; Mkses Kumolusa, M, 20, and Adebisi Telfa, M, 20. 

Police said the suspects have confessed to belonging  to a Syndicate of car snatchers who have been terrorizing Otta area and Ogun State at large.  

They also confessed to have powers to hypnotise their victims. 

Items recovered from them include one red unregistered Bajaj Motorcycle, locally made bullet proof vest, assorted charms, dangerous weapons various suspected  stolen items(goods).

In the related development, police operatives attached to Ago Iwoye Division of the Command have arrested 2 suspected cultists who were engaged in initiation of some young guys in a Bush at  Imosan Ijebu, via Ago Iwoye on Saturday.

The suspected cultists were arrested when some  of the newly  initiated members reported their illegal act to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Division, that the cultists actually  forced them into the bush for initiation without their consent.

The suspects who are some of the strong leaders that masterminded the initiation process are Obasanjo Segun, M, 25 and Musari Saheed, M, 25 of Computer Village in Ago Iwoye of Ogun State.

They have confessed to belonging  to Aiye confraternity, also known as Black Axe.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that the suspects in the cases of Robbery and Cultism be transferred to the Special Anti Robbery Squad for proper investigation as he will not tolerate any act of cultism and criminality in Ogun State..

Compol Ali also vowed to flush cultists out of Ogun as he believes that cultism is the basis for any crime or social vices, that if cultism is tackled, crime is 90% tackled.
