Ogun PDP elects new state executives
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state joined other state chapters to elect its new officers to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years. The Congress which held at the Party Secretariat, Abeokuta, was conducted by the Congress committee from Abuja led by Mohammed El-Yakub and monitored by INEC and all relevant security agencies.
The Congress returned Engr. Adebayo Dayo as the State Chairman and Alhaji Semiu Sodipo as State secretary among others. It is instructive to state that the party remains strong and poised to achieve great things in coming years. The new chairman in his address pleaded with members of the party who feel aggrieved to join hands with this new executive in forging a united and prosperous party.
Importantly, we hereby notify the good people of Ogun state that there are no factions in Ogun PDP and only one validly conducted Congress held today. Any other arrangement anywhere that purports to be another “parallel” Congress is nothing but a gathering of people whose motive and intentions are not clear and definitely not in consonance with the mood of the larger percentage of our members that are desirous of a rejuvenated, peaceful and progressive party.
