FunsoOgun State First Lady, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, has advised the educators in the country to move with the trend of technology, in order to tackle the current challenges of the country’s standard of education.

Mrs Amosun made this advice on Thursday at the opening of the 7th Total School Support seminar and exhibition put together by EDUMARK Consult, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), in Lagos with the Theme, ‘Inspiring the Future’.

According to her, technology is redefining the way students learn and it is important for educators to keep abreast of changes that come with technology, if they are to inspire children to learn.

“The theme of this seminar, “Inspiring the Future”, is woven on the concept that the world of education is changing.

”The quality of education a country gives its citizens determines to a large extent, the magnitude of political stability and technological advancement of that country.

”Education, which is the bedrock of development in any given society, must be affordable and accessible for all, whether young or old.

”Interestingly, the world of education is changing with the advancement of of technology, hence we cannot separate education from technology, most especially as it makes learning a little more easier”.‎ She said and added that education had become one of the clearest indicators of life outcomes such as employment, incomes and social status, as well as a strong predictor of one’s attitude and well being.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Executive Director of Edumark, Mrs Yinka Ogunde, said that the essence of the event was to develop educators to do their best to keep abreast with modern trends and learning techniques

She said that no nation would ever develop without serious commitment by its government towards the education of its people.

”It is not an issue that can be ignored. There must be focused determination by leaders of the country to ensure they raise a generation that could bring about the Nigeria that we all dream of,” she said.
