In its bid to tackle crimes and social vices in Ogun State, particularly kidnapping, that has been on the increase in recent time in Ogun State, the Ogun State Police Command has declared “war” on criminals and hoodlums who have been terrorizing the good people of Ijebu Ode and Sagamu areas of the state.
The declaration was made today(Thursday) by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali, in his Eleweran office, while addressing and issuing out directives to all senior officers and Area commanders in Ijebu and Sagamu Area commands and Commanders of Special Anti Robbery Squad, Police Mobile Force, Anti Kidnapping and Cultism, on the need to demystify these criminals, particular kidnappers, who are fond of embarrassing the Police Command.
According to a release by the state police PRO, CP Abdulmajid Ali declared that there will be immediate restriction on the operations of commercial motorcycles, okada, and recreational centres or joints to 20.30hrs and 2200hrs respectively.
The commissioner however vowed to deal decisively with any Divisional Police Officer, DPO whose area within which these restriction orders are violated as he will not allow any unscrupulous element to rubbish the existing peaceful environment we enjoy in Ogun State.
CP Ali restated his commitment to pounce on any group of people or individuals who engage themselves in any criminal act or vices, especially kidnappers and cultists.
He also made it clear that this is not imposition of curfew in the state but restriction on some activities that have been inimical to smooth security operations in the state.
Compol Alialso appealed to the effected groups and individuals, particularly okada and jointo understand and support the police while these operations last.
