Ogun command celebrates police week in grand style
The Ogun State Police Command has lined – up certain events to mark the ongoing Nigeria Police Week in the State capital, Abeokuta.
The command had organised a jumat service on Friday at the central mosque Kobiti Abeokuta where the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali led some senior officers and men and friends of the command including top government officials to the Special prayers at Kobiti.
In the same spirit, the command organised a trek tagged “Walk Against Crime” on Saturday in Abeokuta. The trian moved from the area Command headquarters Oke Ilewo Abeokuta through Ibara round about, CBN, Kuto round about to Oke Ilewo. Other sister agencies and various unions and associations were involved in the brief trek.
On Sunday,today, the command organised a Thanksgiving service at the St Peters cathedral Church Ake Abeokuta where the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence DCP Shina Olukolu represented the Commissioner of Police. Other Senior officers that attended the service included ACP Jude Azuka, ACP Presley Dode, DSP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI PPRO OGUN, representatives of other security agencies, traditional rulers including the Alake of Egba Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Chief Doja Adewolu, Otun of Owu Kingdom etc.
The sermon for the Special Thanksgiving service and the Easter Service, at the cathedral Church was delivered by the Diocesan, Bishop of Egba Diocese, Bishop Emmanuel Adekunle. He appreciated the police for recognising almighty God in policing Nigeria and that it’s a right direction as God remains the Alpha and Omega in security of lives and property.
The Lord Bishop of Egba Diocese then showered prayers on the command and Nigeria Police Force at large.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Shina Olukolu and other officers and men of the command, Oba Alake of Egbaland, invited dignitaries danced to the altar for Thanksgiving and prayers.
