Ogun Assembly Member, Atobatele Empowers Physically Challenged With Wheelchair
Lukmon Olajide Atobatele, the House of Assembly member representing Abeokuta South Constituency 1 has donated a wheelchair to a physically challenged woman, Mrs. Bukunmi Fikepe Omilola popularly known as “Iya Ibukun Latin ayetoro”. Atobatele who was on a live radio programme discussing his initiatives
on primary healthcare received many calls one of which was a plea for wheelchair for a physically challenged woman. The caller was calling on behalf of Mrs. Omilola.
A week after, Atobatele donated a wheelchair to the woman amidst praises for the Assembly member who was a students’ Union leader during his days at the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH).
Atobatele said, ”During the broadcast, we received calls from attentive listeners, one of which presented an urgent plea for a wheelchair on behalf of a physically challenged woman. Interestingly, she is not even part of my immediate constituency.
”Remaining true to the commitment I made during the election campaign, I pledged to extend the benefits of democracy to grassroots individuals, irrespective of their political affiliations, factions, or tribal backgrounds.
”It is our belief that by uplifting others, we, too, rise….
”Today, I am honored to fulfill the promise i made by presenting a wheelchair to Mrs. Bukunmi Fikepe Omilola popularly known as “Iya Ibukun Latin ayetoro”

”This wheelchair will enhance her mobility, and concurrently, we are actively pursuing sustainable solutions for the broader inclusion of the physically challenged within our society. In adherence to the principle of “Promise Made… Promise Kept,” we shall continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of our community.”
