Ogun APC Reps. Member Decamps to PDP

Hon Isiaq Abiodun Akinlade, representing Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency of Ogun State has finally dumps All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The three-time lawmaker from Owode-Yewa in a letter addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, explained that he resolved to dump the APC based on the provisions of Section 68(g) of the 1999 constitution.
“I resolved not to be part of the subsequent merger that was negotiated between the leadership of the defunct ACN and some other political parties which led to the eventual registration of the APC.” He said.
In a letter billed to be read at plenary today, Akinlade wrote, “This is to formally inform you and the leadership of the House of Representatives of my intention to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“This decision is premised on the fact that the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), on which platform I won election into the House in 2011, has merged with other parties to form the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
Hon Akinlade was elected to the NASS on the platform of PDP twice and had to decamped to ACN when there was crisis between him and then state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, with his supporters. He was re-elected third term under the umbrella of ACN.
Hon Akinlade is presently aspiring to wrestle power from the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
