The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has urged the opposition to give it a strong challenge for the benefit of the nation and its politics.

Odigie-Oyegun was speaking while receiving a delegation led by the former President of Niger Republic, Alhaji Mamman Usman, at the party’s national headquarters, Abuja.

Receiving congratulations on the 2015 election victory, the APC chairman said that democracy requires “commitment to a cause of giving a choice to the people in a free and fair manner.”

He also spoke of the trials of several political parties which coalesced to form the APC despite frustrations by the former political party in power.

Usman, in his speech, said that other African countries will emulate Nigeria’s example during the elections and ensure stability for the good of the entire continent.
