Stoke City Forward, Osaze Odemwingie is likely to be ruled out for the rest of the season as he might have damaged his cruciate knee ligament.

The Nigeria international fell without being tackled during Stoke’s 0-1 victory over Manchester City at Etihad on Saturday and was stretchered from the pitch.

Manager Mark Hughes had said after the match that the injury was nothing serious but after news of the seriousness of Odemwingie’s injuries, the club might now have to replace him.

Odemwingie moved to Stoke City from Cardiff city in January 2014 and has scored 5 goals in 17 appearances for the EPL team.

News of his injuries will not affect his commitment to the Super Eagles as he was not called for the AFCON Qualifier matches against Congo and South Africa.
