Obasanjo’s Abeokuta Mansion Engulfed by Fire
The Hilltop residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital was today engulfed by fire.
The fire which occurred shortly after the former president left the mansion was said to have been caused by electricity power surge.
NigerianEcho gathered that the fire which started around 4:25pm and lasted for about 30 minutes sparked from his private office which is a stone throw to his bedroom, before the security personnel on duty in the premises raised alarm.
The fire service were quickly contacted and in a swift response rushed to the scene of the incident with two fire fighter vehicles and hurriedly put out the fire before it could cause serious havoc.
Aside from some damaged property, no life was lost in the incident.
