Obasanjo Forecloses Return of Chibok Girls
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said the 219 schoolgirls abducted from Chibok on April 14 by the Boko Haram terrorist sect will not return soon as the government failed to take action within 48 hours of the abduction.
Obasanjo stated this while speaking in an interview with Radio France International, saying:
“We will never be able to get those girls together again. And the stories of those girls will go on for the next 30 years. Some of them will come out when they are adults or sent back when they are impregnated by their captors. If anybody is thinking of getting those girls intact, he must be daydreaming.”
Speaking about Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Kashamu Buruji, who filed for a court ruling to stop Obasanjo’s tell-all book from being released, the former Head of state insisted that the PDP chieftain was a wanted drug baron, while expressing shame that PDP and the presidency were associated with him.
“He is somebody who has been indicted in the United States as a drug baron, and for a political party and the presidency to be hobnobbing with him leaves much to be desired.”
