Obasanjo Denounces PDP As Party Expels him
The former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has finally dumped the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring he is no longer interested in the party and that he is no longer a politician.
Obasanjo, who has been openly critical of President Jonathan, held a press conference on Monday, during which he ripped apart his PDP membership card.
Obasanjo, who is also a founding member of the PDP, stated that he will not be joining any other political party as he intends to become an elder statesman.
Barely two hours after he denounced the Party, however, the Ogun state chapter of the ruling party announced the immediate expulsion of the ex-president from the party.
