Obanikoro, Maku, Wike, Others Resign from President Goodluck Jonathan’s Cabine

Seven ministers in President Goodluck Jonathan’s Federal Executive Council, have resigned from office to pursue their political ambition.

The ministers are Labaran Maku (Minister of Information), Samuel Ortom (Minister of State for Trade and Industry), Nyesom Wike (Minister of state Education), Musiliu Obanikoro (Minister of State Defence), Emeka Wogu (Minister of Labour), Onyebuchi Chikwu (Minister for Health) and Dairus Ishaku(Minister of State for Niger Delta).

Maku, who is well-known for his support of the Jonathan-led administration and rampant exchange of words with the opposition, will be contesting in the Nasarrawa gubernatorial election while Wike, who is at loggerheads with Governor Rotimi Amaechi, will be running for the position of the Rivers state governor.
